How to play

Stack is a daily estimation game played with toy blocks. Every round asks how many of one everyday thing would match the height (or length) of something enormous, like how many bananas tall the Statue of Liberty is. There's no ruler and no number pad: you build the answer by hand.

  1. Drag up on the stack to add objects and down to take them away. The further you drag, the faster it grows.
  2. Use + and โˆ’ to fine-tune, or ร—2 and รท2 for big jumps. The count shows as you go.
  3. When the stack reaches the top, the view zooms out so it can keep growing. The landmark card is never drawn to scale, so you can't just line them up.
  4. Tap Stack it! to see the stack grow or shrink to the real answer.
  5. Five stacks a day, each worth up to 100 points.

Scoring works on ratios, not differences, so big answers aren't harder than small ones. Exactly right scores 100. Off by a factor of two in either direction (half the answer, or double it) scores 50, and four times off scores nothing.

Every size has a source, shown after you answer. Landmark heights come from the linked Wikipedia articles and object sizes from the standard that defines them, such as the ISO credit card standard or the US Mint's penny specification.
